Dr. Joachim Belz

Member of the Executive Board and CEO

Dr. Joachim Belz (born 1957) began his career in 1987 with Fraunhofer Gesellschaft für angewandte Forschung. Dr. Belz gained experience in the field of product management, marketing and sales with MicroParts Gesellschaft für Mikrostrukturtechnik and Omron Electronics GmbH, where he was a member of the Executive Board. In 1997 he joined Harting Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG as Managing Director and was appointed to the Executive Board of Harting Führungs-AG in 2003 with responsibility for New Technologies. Dr. Belz joined Weidmüller Interface GmbH & Co. KG as Managing Director in 2006 and was appointed to the Executive Board of the Weidmüller Group in November 2006. He is responsible for strategy, development, quality and business units.

Since May 2007 he has been acting as Executive Board Member and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Harald Vogelsang

Chief Financial Officer

After completing his studies in economics at the Universities of Bochum and Wuppertal, Harald Vogelsang (born 1962) began his career at Siemens AG where he was responsible for managerial functions, among others, as Commercial Key Account Manager, Senior Management Consultant and Personal Advisor to the Central Management Board of Siemens in Munich and Regensburg as well as in the USA, Singapore and Korea. He was then active in larger medium-sized companies, e. g. as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at SAS Autosystemtechnik in Karlsruhe.In 2007 Harald Vogelsang took on the function of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the Electronics and Drive-Train business unit within the company VDO Automotive AG. In addition to heading finances, he was also responsible, among other tasks, for strategic planning and managing important key projects of the VDO Group. Harald Vogelsang was called to the Management Board of Weidmüller Group in February 2009 and has the function of CFO. He is responsible for controlling, finance, information technology, legal and purchasing as well as Global Logistics and SCM.

Volpert Briel

Sales Officer

Volpert Briel (born 1955) began his career 1983 at Wende & Malter GmbH as assistant of the Managing Board and sales engineer. In 1988 he joined the US-company York International (BBC York) where he headed the building technology as well as the industry sector. In 1994 he restructured the GEA subsidiary Grasso, Berlin as Managing Director. Since 1997 Volpert Briel took Managing Director positions at ABB in the area of energy, medium voltage and process industry. In 2006 he started up and headed the global Divison Small Hydro Power of the mechanical engineering company Voith. Volpert Briel was appointed member of the Executive Board of the Weidmüller Group in September 2009 as Chief Marketing and Sales Officer (CMO).

Ralf Hoppe

Managing Director Operations

Ralf Hoppe (born 1961) joined Weidmüller directly after graduation. Following various functions in the field of operations, he was given global responsibility for the company's manufacturing facilities. As Managing Director of Weidmüller Interface GmbH & Co. KG he is responsible for the global manufacturing network as well as toolmaking.

Dr. Jürgen Ober

Human Resources

Dr. Jürgen Ober (born 1957) began his career at Mannesmann DEMAG Duisburg after completing his studies of law and subsequent activities at the University of Cologne. He held several positions in the field of human resources at Mannesmann, including the support of the domestic as well as the international management, and last as the HR manager for the Compressed Air Technology division in Frankfurt and Simmern/Hunsrück. In 1997 Dr. Ober changed to ABB Germany, where he was the HR manager of Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH. In 2003 he became member of the Executive Board with additional responsibility as HR Director for the Automation Products division of ABB Germany. On October 1, 2007, Dr. Ober was appointed HR Director with global responsibility for HR management and Member of the Management Board of the Weidmüller Group.
